Important
The Honorary Consulate of Liberia in The Gambia does not print or issue Liberian passports.
Passport applications must be submitted through Liberia’s official online passport system operated under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This office does not replace that national process.

Passport renewal
Passport enrollment and printing are not currently available at this office. Liberian citizens in The Gambia must apply for passport renewal through the official Liberian passport application website and complete biometric enrollment at an authorized passport center.
The Honorary Consulate can provide general guidance and assistance with passport-related questions, but applicants must complete the required application and enrollment procedures through the authorized passport system.
How to renew your passport
- Visit the Official Liberia passport portal.
- Complete the online passport application.
- Follow the instructions provided by the passport authority regarding payment and required supporting documents.
- Select or follow the instructions for an authorized passport enrollment location.
- Complete the required biometric enrollment at an authorized passport enrollment center.
- Follow the passport authority’s instructions regarding collection or delivery of the completed passport.
The Honorary Consulate can assist with
- General guidance on the passport renewal process
- Explaining documentation requirements
- Reviewing documents before an applicant begins the process, where appropriate
- Providing consular assistance when an applicant encounters an identity or citizenship-documentation issue
- Advising citizens with expired passports or urgent travel circumstances
- Directing applicants to the appropriate Liberian passport authority when further assistance is required
Please note: The Honorary Consulate of Liberia in The Gambia does not capture passport biometrics, accept passport enrollment, or print Liberian passports. Completing an online application with assistance from this office does not constitute passport enrollment. Applicants must follow the instructions of the official passport authority to complete biometric enrollment at an authorized location. Lost or stolen passport
If your Liberian passport is lost or stolen while you are in The Gambia, contact the Honorary Consulate of Liberia in The Gambia as soon as possible. Replacement passports are not currently printed at this office. The Honorary Consulate can assist with reporting the loss, verifying your identity and Liberian citizenship, and advising you on the appropriate next steps for obtaining a replacement or emergency travel documentation.

What to do
- Report the loss or theft to the police in The Gambia and obtain a copy of the police report.
- Contact or visit the Honorary Consulate to report the lost or stolen passport. Call +220 835051600 or email info@liberiahonoraryconsulate.gm.
- Provide proof of identity and Liberian citizenship, where available. This may include:
- Copy or photograph of the lost passport
- Liberian birth certificate
- Liberian national identification document
- Naturalization certificate, if applicable
- Other government-issued identification
- Complete the required declaration or passport application forms provided or approved by the Honorary Consulate. National applications are also directed through the Official Liberia passport portal when required.
- The Honorary Consulate will advise whether your case must be forwarded to the appropriate passport authority in Liberia or another authorized Liberian mission for processing.
- If you have urgent travel needs, ask the Honorary Consulate whether you qualify for an Emergency Travel Certificate or other temporary travel document. Eligibility, validity, destination restrictions, and fees will depend on authorization from the appropriate Liberian authorities.

- Proof of Liberian citizenship
- Government-issued identification
- Copy of the lost or stolen passport
- Passport-size photographs
- Evidence of urgent travel, if requesting emergency assistance
Important: Reporting a lost or stolen passport does not guarantee that a replacement passport or emergency travel document can be issued in The Gambia. Applicants will be advised of the appropriate procedure after their identity, citizenship, and circumstances have been reviewed.
Emergency travel documents
If you need urgent travel after a lost or stolen passport, follow the guidance in the section above and ask the Honorary Consulate about Emergency Travel Certificate eligibility. Passport book production remains with the national system, not this office.
